My friend, Brianne, is back at Casa Bouquet again to talk about skin hydration and Rodan + Fields. She’s a busy and active mom of two and she just keeps getting prettier! I’ve asked Brianne to explain a Rodan + Fields product for the skin.

My personal experience

I started using this product the end of April (as an R+F consultant, I got to order before it launched to the market in May 2017). I use it in conjunction with my current R+F regimen, adding it in after I apply my toner. I immediately loved its scent and it went on so super smooth.

Depending on how much hydration you need, you can use the product one to two times daily (am/pm). To apply this serum, you twist open the lid and pull out the glass dropper, which is pre-filled with one application. I first squeeze the serum out of the dropper into my hand, then apply it to my entire face, neck and chest. Some people even use it on the top of their hands.

AHS is an oil free serum and a little bit goes a long way. After applying, my skin feels silky and smooth. In less than a week, I was totally hooked on this product and can’t imagine not having it as part of my daily skincare regimen. I love the fact that my wrinkles on my forehead are less noticeable. In addition to that, my skin has a healthy glow and the best part is that I hardly need to wear any makeup.

Rodan + Fields products are created by the dermatologists behind the well-known ProActiv Solution acne system. Rodan + Fields combine pharmaceutical ingredients with active cosmetics with the goal of skin transformation. I’m excited to share my favs, and here’s my top 5 must-haves.

Dark spots: The REVERSE regimen is our skincare line that targets brown spots, dullness, and discoloration. This line also targets melasma, which is a very stubborn, hormonal condition that creates brown patches on your skin. It is a great regimen to start with to give you a clean slate. The REVERSE line is perfect for someone looking to reverse previous sun damage and to prevent future wear and tear. Even after one use, your skin will be smoother, brighter, radiant and glowing.

Within each Rodan + Fields regimen, there are four products, which are numbered for your convenience and ease. Rodan + Fields skin care regimens are formulated as a multi-med approach which gives you the right products, in the right order, in the right amount. The products work together to give you the best results.

Step 1 in the REVERSE regimen is the REVERSE Deep, Exfoliating wash. This product has a refreshing citrusy smell and has the perfect amount of polishing beads to scrub and cleanse your face. Step 2 is the REVERSE Intensive Brightening Toner, which brightens your skin’s appearance and helps to fade any discoloration you may have.

Step 3 is the REVERSE Dual Active Brightening Complex, which helps with fine lines and wrinkles and also brightens your complexion. This step comes with 2 separate tubes, one that contains Vitamin C and the other that contains retinol. For this step, you squeeze a pea sized amount of product from each tube into your hand then mix them together before smoothing them over your entire face, neck, and chest. Having the dual tubes helps to maintain the efficacy of the ingredients to give you maximum results. The last step, Step 4 is the REVERSE Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen. This product has the same citrusy scent. It makes your skin feel really smooth and is not greasy at all. I love this sunscreen and have peace of mind knowing that I’m fully protected when I’m out and about.

The REVERSE product line has one additional product REVERSE Skin Lightening Accelerator Pack that can be used to accelerate the results of the REVERSE regimen or to be used as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with another Rodan + Fields skin care line.

Wrinkles: The REDEFINE regimen is our rock star product line that targets anti-aging from every angle. It targets fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and will improve the overall tone, texture and firmness of your skin. In this day and age, who doesn’t want to look younger? The REDEFINE line is the most robust line we have. This line contains many add-on products to target other specific anti-aging concerns.

REDEFINE also comes packaged with four products. Step 1 in the REDEFINE line is the REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask. This is a creamy, clay based cleanser that has a super fresh scent. This cleanser can also be used as a mask. I usually wash my face and leave it on as a mask as I brush my teeth, fix my hair, and get dressed. Step 2 is the REDEFINE Pore Minimizing Toner. This product has the same great smell as the Cleansing Mask. I let this dry for a few minutes before I apply step 3.

Step 3 in the morning is your REDEFINE Triple Defense Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30. This day cream contains peptides that help fight fine lines and wrinkles, tightens skin, and protects against both UVA and UVB rays. This really is triple defense! Your skin will be soft, smooth, and younger looking. Step 3 in the evening is the REDEFINE Overnight Restorative Cream. This product contains hyaluronic acid and glycerin that keeps skin hydrated. It also has antioxidants A, C, and E that are released into your skin as you sleep to replace nutrients in the skin.

In my experience using the REDEFINE regimen, I saw a huge improvement of the tone and texture of my skin. This regimen is one of a kind and making waves in the beauty industry. Again, the REDEFINE line is Rodan + Fields most robust product line and has many other products that are worth trying.

Eyes: The Rodan + Fields REDEFINE Multi-function eye cream is one of those additional REDEFINE products that I must mention. It is a best seller for many reasons. It targets fine lines, crow’s feet, dark circles, and puffiness. It basically does it all and top of that, it lasts for a long time. My husband and I were using the same container day and night and it lasted us over 4 months. With this eye cream, a little bit, goes a long way! I really can’t say enough good things about this. My husband is naturally prone to dark circles under his eyes and this eye cream has really brightened that area tremendously. We have two children under five, so we definitely don’t get enough sleep, but you wouldn’t know it since we’ve found our hero product!
ENHANCEMENTS: Rodan + Fields has an ENHANCEMENT line that contains Mineral peptide powder and bronzer as well as micro-dermabrasion products for the lips, body, and face. My favorite product in this line is the ENHANCEMENT line is the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. This product is a sugar and salt scrub with Vitamin C and E. The scent is clean and citrusy, similar to the REVERSE cleanser.

One of the reasons I love this product so much is that it’s so versatile. You can use this on your face, arms, legs, feet, or really anywhere you have rough skin. This Micro-Dermabrasion Paste is a little more intense than the REVERSE Deep, Exfoliating wash and can be used 2-3 times a week to give you that extra polished glow. I have keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms and have had it for as long as I remember. I use this ENHANCEMENT Micro-Dermabrasion paste on my arms followed by Rodan + Fields SOOTHE #2 Sensitive Skin Treatment. The combination of these two products has drastically improved the look and feel of my arms. I’m so happy I found these products!

Tools: Rodan + Fields also has some state-of-the-art tools and technologies. The one tool that I really gravitate toward is the AMP MD Micro-Exfoliating Roller. I use the roller after the Step 1 cleanser in any of the regimens. This roller has tiny surgical needles that you roll over your face and neck. You roll it in up and down, side-to-side, and diagonal for about 30 to 60 seconds. It doesn’t hurt, it just gives your face a tingling sensation. It stimulates the connective tissues under your skin. Micro-needling is more or less a technique that creates a controlled injury that results in plumper, thicker, and tighter skin. This micro-needling process has dual benefits to help stimulate collagen reproduction and your products seep deeper into your skin. Your skin will be firmer and smoother. This tool will AMP-lify and accelerate your results when combined with one of the four Rodan + Fields regimens.
